Customer Discusses a Pocket Tissue Production Line During Factory Visit
An overseas hygiene paper supplier recently visited DOUBLE Machinery to evaluate a pocket tissue production line. The customer planned to add portable tissue packs to its product range and wanted to compare production capacity, pack formats, automation levels, and factory layout requirements.
Confirming the Pocket Tissue Product
The meeting began with the required finished pack. Pocket tissue equipment must match the unfolded tissue size, folded size, number of sheets, number of plies, paper weight, film dimensions, label style, and finished pack thickness.
The customer planned to produce more than one pack format, so our team discussed the differences between super-mini, mini, and standard pocket tissue packs. Changeover requirements and the range of products supported by each machine configuration were also reviewed.
Single-Channel and Dual-Channel Options
During the factory inspection, the customer compared single-channel and dual-channel pocket tissue production arrangements.
A single-channel line may suit moderate output requirements and limited factory space. A dual-channel line can provide higher production capacity but requires more space, utility capacity, and coordination at the packing end.
Our engineers explained that the final choice should be based on regular order volume rather than maximum machine speed alone.
Folding, Packing and Product Discharge
The customer inspected the tissue folding, counting, film feeding, product insertion, sealing, labeling, and discharge processes. Special attention was given to film registration, pack appearance, sealing quality, and consistent sheet count.
The discussion also covered how the completed pocket tissue packs could connect with bundling or secondary packing equipment.
Preliminary Production Arrangement
Based on the customer’s initial requirements, our team outlined a preliminary pocket tissue production process and the factory space needed for operation, maintenance, raw-material storage, and finished-product handling.
Before finalizing the proposal, the customer will provide tissue samples, packaging film information, required sheet count, target output, and local voltage and air-supply conditions.
