Facial Tissue Production Line Configuration and Equipment Selection

Reviewing a Facial Tissue Production Line Before Purchase

An overseas tissue products manufacturer recently visited DOUBLE Machinery to evaluate equipment for a new facial tissue production project. The customer planned to produce retail facial tissue in different packing formats and wanted to understand how the folding, cutting, and packing machines could operate as one connected production line.

This type of factory visit is a practical step for buyers who need to confirm machine layout, process flow, and configuration before committing to a full line. It also gives the engineering team a chance to match equipment to the actual paper grades and pack formats the buyer intends to run.

Reviewing the Facial Tissue Converting Process

During the factory tour, our team introduced the complete process from parent-roll unwinding to finished facial tissue packs. The customer inspected the facial tissue interfolder and discussed paper feeding, tension control, folding accuracy, automatic counting, and stack discharge.

Because the customer planned to use more than one paper grade, the discussion also covered how paper weight, number of plies, softness, and parent-roll quality could affect stable machine speed and finished tissue quality.

  • Parent-roll unwinding and web tension control
  • Folding accuracy and stack formation
  • Automatic counting and stack discharge
  • Effect of paper grade, plies, and softness on stable running speed

Cutting and Packing Equipment

The customer also reviewed the facial tissue log saw and downstream packing equipment. Our engineers explained how the folded tissue logs are transferred to the cutting section and how the cutting length must match the required pack size.

For the packing section, the customer compared soft-pack and box-pack options. The main points included finished pack dimensions, film or carton specifications, target packing speed, product feeding, and connection with the cutting machine.

Buyers comparing cutting and packing options can review the DB-L-320C Facial Tissue Log Saw and the DB-BF-150B High-Speed Automatic Facial Tissue Box Packing Machine for reference specifications.

Reviewing Investment Priorities and Production Planning

Layout and Automation Discussion

The project was planned for an existing factory, so equipment placement was an important part of the visit. The customer provided basic workshop dimensions, while our team reviewed the required line direction, operator access, parent-roll loading area, maintenance space, and finished-product collection.

The customer also wanted to reduce manual transfer between machines. The preliminary plan therefore considered conveyors and automatic transfer equipment between the folding, cutting, and packing sections.

Result of the Visit

The visit helped both teams establish a clearer facial tissue production process. A preliminary equipment list and line direction were discussed, while the final machine configuration will be confirmed after the customer provides finished-product samples, parent-roll specifications, and detailed factory dimensions.

For a facial tissue production line proposal, please share your unfolded tissue size, folded size, sheet count, paper grade, target output, packing format, and available floor space.

Send your product specifications and factory layout details to our engineering team for a suitable facial tissue production line configuration.
