Curved-Infeed Napkin Packing Upgrade in Sri Lanka
In 2019, a food-service tissue manufacturer in Sri Lanka upgraded the packing section of its napkin workshop. The customer already produced counted napkin stacks, but the available floor space did not allow a straight connection between the folding area and the packing machine.
Layout Challenge
The new packing section had to guide napkin stacks around the existing production area while keeping the operator aisle clear. The customer also wanted the stacks to remain aligned during transfer so they could enter the packing machine without frequent manual correction.
Configured Solution
The DB-NK-150P automatic napkin tissue packing machine was combined with a curved infeed conveyor. The conveyor changed the direction of the product flow and delivered the counted stacks to the machine at controlled intervals.
During the factory trial, stack spacing, guide width, pushing timing, film tracking, photoelectric registration, and sealing temperature were adjusted with the customer's napkin samples and printed film. Operators used the touchscreen to check the infeed status and record the settings for each approved pack quantity.
Production Result
The curved arrangement allowed the packing section to fit the existing workshop without relocating the upstream equipment. Napkin stacks entered the machine in a more orderly sequence, reducing accumulation at the connection point.
The finished packs maintained a more consistent shape and moved through the internal conveyor at regular spacing, making downstream collection easier to organize.
For a similar layout, confirm the folded napkin size, sheets per pack, stack height, incoming direction, required conveyor path, film specification, target output, and available floor plan before finalizing the equipment arrangement.
