Automatic Facial Tissue Production Line for an Indonesian Tissue Converter

In 2025, an Indonesian tissue converter added an automatic facial tissue production line to improve the connection between interfolding, stack separation, transfer, and packing preparation. The project was planned for soft-pack facial tissue production and focused on keeping tissue stacks orderly throughout the complete converting process.

Project Requirement

The customer wanted to reduce manual handling between the folding machine and the packing section. In addition to stable interfolding, the production line needed to separate continuous tissue logs accurately, transfer each stack without disturbing the folded sheets, and present the product consistently at the packing infeed.

The configuration was therefore matched to the customer's parent-roll specification, tissue size, ply, sheets per pack, finished-pack dimensions, and available factory layout.

Production Line Configuration

The line combines the main stages required for soft-pack facial tissue production:

• Parent-roll feeding and interfolding
• Automatic tissue-log separation
• Stack transfer and alignment
• Controlled delivery to the packing section

During testing, the team checked paper feeding, fold alignment, stack separation, conveyor timing, sensor response, and the handoff between the converting and packing sections. Guide positions and transfer timing were adjusted to suit the selected tissue specification.

Project Result

The completed line created a clearer production route from parent tissue rolls to packing-ready facial tissue stacks. Folded products remained more orderly during separation and transfer, while the packing section received stacks in a more consistent position.

By linking the individual stages, the customer reduced repeated manual repositioning and established a more practical workflow for continuous facial tissue production. The layout also retained access for routine inspection, cleaning, and production adjustments.
